PPSR check: vehicle finance and recorded risks

Check the recorded risks before you pay for the car. One RegoLens report costs A$10, with no subscription.

What your report includes

Your purchase includes a PPSR search for the vehicle, the original search certificate and a downloadable RegoLens PDF. The report also presents available stolen and written-off information supplied with the search.

Start with a plate or VIN

Use the registration number and state to identify the vehicle, or enter its full 17-character VIN. Match the vehicle details to the actual car before paying. The PPSR search itself is made against the vehicle identifier, not directly against its number plate.

Read the findings in context

A registered security interest needs attention. A result with no registered interests is not a mechanical inspection, proof of ownership or a record of every accident. Source coverage and missing information matter.

An independent service

RegoLens is an independent commercial service. It is not the Australian Government or the PPSR. The RegoLens report is a separate presentation of the search information; the original PPSR certificate is retained separately.

If you prefer to perform only the government search yourself, the official PPSR offers its own self-service search. RegoLens charges A$10 for its report service, rather than representing that amount as the government search fee.

Questions to ask before a PPSR check

Match the VIN on the vehicle, confirm the search date and read the original certificate. The PPSR guide explains the recorded findings, while our car history check overview shows where inspection, service and mileage checks fit.
